Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Management
Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Management
This UHF RFID pharmaceutical cold chain management solution adopts temperature-sensing RFID tags attached to medicine boxes, incubators and transport pallets. Fixed channel readers and portable terminals are deployed in warehouses, loading bays and refrigerated vehicles.

The integrated cloud platform covers three core links: drug delivery, in-transit monitoring and unloading inspection.

It automatically collects batch, temperature, location and operator data, realizes real-time temperature over-limit alarm, full-circulation traceability and automatic order reconciliation, fully meets GSP standardized supervision requirements, and reduces drug deterioration and cross-delivery risks.
I. Pain Points of Traditional Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Management
1.1 Discontinuous manual temperature recording with high compliance risks
Traditional mode relies on periodic manual temperature logging, which leads to fragmented, incomplete and alterable temperature data. Once vaccines and biological products go out of specified temperature range, abnormal conditions cannot be discovered timely, failing audit requirements and causing drug failure losses.

1.2 Slow single-item identification & frequent delivery errors
Paper orders and single-scan barcodes cannot realize batch verification during loading/unloading. Cross-delivery, over-delivery and missing goods frequently occur, requiring heavy manual rechecking and slowing down warehouse turnover efficiency.

1.3 Lack of full-chain circulation traceability
There is unified digital binding for drugs, vehicles and operators. Warehouse, transportation and terminal data are isolated; when quality accidents happen, the responsible link cannot be quickly located, and drug batch recall work is extremely difficult.

1.4 Incomplete vehicle & personnel qualification control
Manual registration of carriers, drivers and operators lacks real-time identity verification. Unqualified personnel and vehicles may participate in cold chain transportation, violating standardized management norms.

1.5 No real-time location & abnormal early warning
No continuous vehicle trajectory recording during transit. Temperature out-of-range, long-time parking and abnormal unloading cannot trigger automatic reminders, resulting in delayed disposal of spoiled medicines.

1.6 Isolated independent data silos
Warehouse management, transportation scheduling and supervision systems operate separately. Mass manual data transcription is required for regular reports, consuming lots of administrative labor and prone to inconsistent data.
II. Solution Overview
2.1 One-to-one binding of temperature-sensing RFID tags
Attach reusable temperature recording RFID tags to medicine packages and heat preservation boxes, writing batch, production date and storage temperature threshold information. The tags continuously record ambient temperature and store historical data for full cold chain traceability.

2.2 Full-node automatic batch data collection
Install fixed RFID access gates at loading/unloading ports, and equip on-site staff with handheld reading terminals. Batch identification of all medicines during warehousing and delivery automatically matches physical goods with order data to block cross-delivery and missing goods at source.

2.3 Integrated three-link standardized workflow control
The system unifies delivery, transit and unloading management modules, realizing dual identity verification of vehicles and operators via RFID cards. Only qualified carriers and personnel can complete cold chain loading and unloading operations to standardize access control.

2.4 Real-time temperature & trajectory supervision mechanism
Refrigerated vehicles upload positioning and temperature data to the platform all the way. Sound-light and background push alerts will be triggered once temperature exceeds the set range, supporting complete transportation trajectory playback for responsibility confirmation.

2.5 Middleware to realize cross-system data sharing
Dedicated data middleware connects cold chain management platforms with enterprise WMS, TMS and regulatory supervision systems, realizing two-way synchronous data transmission and eliminating repeated manual entry.

2.6 Automatic compliance statistical report output
The background one-click generates temperature history, circulation record and batch delivery reports that meet GSP audit standards. Complete electronic archives are stored long-term to simplify daily supervision and product recall work.
