Application of RFID Technology In Smart Home

Aug 26,2023
RFID, also known as radio frequency identification, identifies and reads specific target data through radio signals, and does not require mechanical contact or specific complex environments to identify and read and write data. Today, the application of RFID technology that we are talking about is actually RFID tags, which already exist in all aspects of our lives. The following is about the application of RFID technology in the smart home, you can come to understand.

I. Help the home intelligent gateway become the control center of the home. Make it have the following features:

1. Embedded processor and operating system;
2, With a touchable display;
3, There are alarm point input and control output, alarm can occur through the network or telephone alarm;
4, Through the radio frequency module on the gateway to communicate with the network nodes, to achieve home appliance control;
5. At the same time, the family gateway also has the functions of taking pictures, leaving messages, and playing music.

II. Break The Transmission Barrier of External Objects

Ordinary household or commercial receivers, usually use infrared (IF), signal transceiver requires a straight path, easy to be blocked by foreign objects. Using radio frequency technology, the signal is not blocked by foreign objects, where the system coverage range, the system in an open environment, the coverage range of up to 100 meters. Coupled with low power consumption of radio frequency, wide coverage regardless of any orientation or Angle, the reception is accurate and reliable.

Taking a 200 square meter residence as an example, the indoor length is about 30 meters, so the coverage of 100 meters, no matter where the user goes, each switch can receive the command of the remote control. Each remote control, switch or dimmer switch is equipped with a radio frequency transmitter or receiver, so the remote control can issue commands directly to each switch to control the preset lighting situation without connecting any wires.

However, the indoor 30m remote control distance is already the maximum limit of radio frequency technology, if the distance is exceeded, the wireless signal is vulnerable to the same frequency interference, and the signal is weakened, which is also the biggest defect of radio frequency technology.

III. Optimize The Control of Lighting

The radio frequency light control system consists of intelligent panel switches and dimmers used to send and receive command signals, which are transmitted by radio rather than through the home's power line. Each panel switch is equipped with a different remote identification code. These codes utilize 19-bit recognition technology, allowing the receiver to accurately identify each instruction. Even if neighbors use it at the same time, there is absolutely no transmission error due to their remote control interference.

The dimmer switch also has a built-in RF radio frequency transmitter, which can control the switch of the floor lamp or table lamp or adjust the light brightness at will, independent of the remote control or mobile switch. The back of the dimmer switch is also equipped with a clamp, which can be freely clipped on the wire or other prominent places, not easy to lose, flexible and comfortable. Reduce interference and transmit or receive commands more accurately.

The wireless smart socket series mainly realizes the power remote control of non-remote control appliances (such as water heaters, electric fans, etc.) through radio frequency technology, which not only increases the function of wireless remote control for these appliances, but also saves energy to the maximum extent and ensures safety.
